The visit takes place at the Bourse de Commerce, one of the most emblematic buildings in Paris, located in the heart of the city steps away from the Louvre. Built in the 16th century under Catherine de Medici, the building was transformed in 1885 by architect Henri Blondel, who added its iconic dome. After a meticulous 4-year-long restoration led by architect Tadao Ando, it reopened in 2021 as a major cultural venue dedicated to contemporary art, housing the Pinault Collection – a body of works assembled over more than fifty years by collector and patron François Pinault.
Discover the exhibition “Clair-Obscur”, which explores the dialogue between light and shadow through a curated selection of works from the Pinault Collection, bringing together major contemporary artists around themes of perception and contrast. Beneath the spectacular glass dome, Tadao Ando’s minimalist concrete interventions create a powerful dialogue between heritage architecture and contemporary creation.
