SCOPE

The site www.frenchcenterofdesign.com is published by the company SARL Centre Français du Design located at 32 rue Saint Paul 75004 Paris, with a capital of 25,000 €, registered with the RCS of Paris under number 753 283 928.

These terms and conditions apply to relations between users of the site www.frenchcenterofdesign.com and the company SARL Center Français du Design (French Center of design) which is the publisher.

Any use, registration and ordering on this site constitutes unreserved acceptance of our general conditions by the user.

By ordering on the site, the customer declares to have read the terms of sales and to have accepted them.

The user or the customer of the site must ensure his capacity to contract, take note of these terms of sales, and keep a copy.

Any order placed on this site is subject to these terms of sale and entails an obligation to pay for the products or services.

The French Center of design reserves the right to modify and update its terms of sales.

The customer can consult, download and print these terms of sales at any time by clicking, at the bottom of the page, on the link “Terms and conditions”.

Product prices are indicated in euros all taxes included. Products shipped outside the European Union are not subject to VAT: if the customer has entered his address on the website, the price displayed is automatically adjusted accordingly and appears exclusive of tax.

PRODUCTS AND ORDERS

The site www.frenchcenterofdesign.com markets publishing products, such as books and illustrative posters.

The prices are indicated by default with the VAT applicable in France. By entering their postal code and their country of delivery, in their basket or on the order pages, the customer accesses the final price according to the VAT regime applicable to their location.

The site describes the products and services sold as precisely as possible by presenting their characteristics and photographs which have no contractual value. It may happen that an error occurs in the presentation of the product.

The French Center of design strives to update the stock and inform customers in real time of the availability of products. However, it may happen that a product is no longer available. In this case, the customer is informed and the sums debited are refunded. In the event of partial unavailability, only the sum corresponding to the available products is debited.

The personalized dedication service is a free option offered to the client. The French Center of design cannot be held responsible if it has not been able to have this dedication affixed to the book for reasons beyond its control (unavailability of the designer, quota exhausted, etc.). He will inform the client and send him a signed version of the book.

The customer places an order in accordance with the instructions given to him on the website. He undertakes to complete his registration and order form by providing the necessary complete and exact information. The customer is responsible for the information entered on his registration form and when ordering. In the event of an error, the French Center of design cannot be held responsible for any shortcomings or delays caused in the delivery of products.

The data recorded in the computer system of the French Center of design constitutes proof of all the transactions concluded with the client.

ONLINE PURCHASE PROCEDURE – CART

The customer selects the products he wants to buy by indicating the desired quantity, then clicking on ADD TO CART. Then he can continue shopping.

By clicking on VIEW BASKET in the site menu, the customer accesses the page which allows him to:

  • Check, modify the quantity or delete the products in the basket
  • Enter your postal code and country in order to know the available delivery methods and obtain an estimate of shipping costs and times
  • Enter a discount coupon code

ONLINE PURCHASE PROCEDURE – ORDER VALIDATION

By clicking on CHECK OUT the customer accesses the ordering procedure.

If the customer already has an account, he enters his identifiers and checks the pre-filled data (identity, billing and delivery addresses).
Otherwise, he creates an account by filling in the identification, billing address and delivery forms.

If he unchecks the box “DELIVER TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS” his billing address will be considered as the delivery address.

Customer can enter a discount coupon code

The customer accesses a final checkout page for his order and payment: Description of the items ordered and quantity / Choice of delivery method / Choice of payment method / Acceptance of general conditions.

By clicking on the PLACE ORDER button, the customer definitively validates his order and is redirected to the payment platform.

ONLINE PURCHASE PROCEDURE – ORDER PAYMENT

The customer is invited to choose his means of payment: credit card, bank transfer or Paypal.

If the customer chooses Paypal, he is redirected to this online payment platform.

Payments by credit card are managed by the Société Générale payment platform. If the customer chooses the Bank card, he must indicate which type of card he wishes to use: Visa / Visa Electron / Mastercard / Maestro / CB.

The customer guarantees that he is fully authorized to use the payment card provided for the payment of his order and that this card provides access to sufficient funds to cover the total price of the order.

The customer inserts his bank card data in the fields provided and checks that the data entered are correct. Payment will not be accepted in the event of incorrect data. From the date of the order, a debit request from the customer’s bank account is sent to his bank. The order will be considered final after confirmation of the agreement of the bank payment centers.

The secure electronic payment manager delivers an electronic certificate as proof of the amount and date of the transaction. In this regard, the dates and times of the server will prevail between the parties.

The French Center of design reserves the right to:

  • suspend an order and ask the customer for any additional useful information in order to guarantee the absence of fraudulent use of a means of payment;
  • cancel or refuse any order from a customer with whom there is a dispute over payment for a previous order.

ONLINE PURCHASE PROCEDURE – ORDER CONFIRMATION

The French Center of design acknowledges receipt of the order by email to the address indicated on the customer’s account by a confirmation message summarizing the essential characteristics of the order and allowing the customer to download the Terms and conditions agreement.

The products ordered remain the property of French Center of design until full payment, regardless of the delivery date.

The French Center of design reserves the right to refuse and cancel any order for legitimate reasons (abnormally high quantities, previous dispute).

ORDER DELIVERY – SHIPPING COSTS

The delivery costs depend on the place of delivery, the delivery method, the weight, the volume and the quantities of the order.

The amount of shipping costs, depending on the method chosen by the customer, are indicated on the shopping cart page and when confirming the order before payment.

In the cart, before any order confirmation, it is possible to have an overview of the available delivery methods and an estimate of their price by entering the postal code and the country of the place of delivery.

When confirming the order, they are calculated according to the contents of the basket and the delivery address provided by the customer.

For deliveries to French overseas departments and territories, the country selected in the address form must not be “France” but that of the territory in question if it appears as available in the drop-down list. Otherwise, the calculated delivery costs may be incorrect and the French Center of design will be entitled to re-invoice the customer for the corresponding additional delivery costs.

If the website presents a temporary technical defect and does not indicate any delivery method, the customer is invited to contact the French Center of design without delay. However, if the customer has still placed the order, the French Center of design will contact him to indicate the charges applicable to the delivery of his order and collect them before sending the products.

The delivery costs are indicated in € TTC and are the responsibility of the customers.

DELIVERY OF THE ORDER – SHIPPING TIMES

Delivery times are indicated when choosing the delivery method upon confirmation of the order.

In the basket, before any order confirmation, it is possible to have an overview of the times by entering the postal code and the country of the place of delivery.

The usual indicative delivery times are:

  • Paris: 1-3 working days
  • France: 2-4 working days
  • Europe: 3-5 working days
  • Rest of the world: 10-14 days

These deadlines cannot be binding on the French Center of design .

Books bearing a personalized dedication are not subject to the usual delivery times. The delivery time is estimated from the affixing of the dedication. This can take up to 30 days from the order.

During exceptional events, such as the Covid19 pandemic, affecting local and international logistics flows, these deadlines may be disrupted for reasons beyond the control of the French Center of design .

Orders are not processed or delivered on weekends.

In the event of high traffic, the delivery may be delayed. The French Center of design will inform the client of any delay as soon as possible.

The French Center of design declines all responsibility for any loss or damage suffered by the customer due to a delay or a case of force majeure during delivery.

The delivery of several products from the same order can be fragmented (the customer will be informed by email).

The French Center of design undertakes to make every effort to deliver the products promptly after confirmation of the order and, unless otherwise specified, no later than 30 days from the confirmation of the order.

DELIVERY OF THE ORDER – SHIPPING DESTINATION

Deliveries are made to the address mentioned by the customer when ordering and which the carrier can easily access.

The customer is required to indicate a correct and complete delivery address when ordering. It is their responsibility to verify the delivery address on all correspondence and to inform the French Center of design without delay of any errors or omissions.

The French Center of design reserves the right to invoice any additional delivery costs applicable due to an error relating to the delivery address caused by the customer.

In the event of absence, the package will be delivered or the delivery rescheduled according to the options offered by the carrier.

The carrier is likely to contact the customer to inform him of a delivery date and / or make an appointment for such a date.

Delivery is deemed to have been made as soon as the carrier makes the products available to the customer or to a third party designated by him, as evidenced by the control system used by the carrier. No dispute relating to the delivery itself will be possible if the package appears to have been delivered, the carrier’s computer system being proof.

In the event of an order to a country other than mainland France, the customer is the importer of the products concerned and as such, responsible for any customs clearance procedures and costs.

If customs duties or other local taxes or import duties or state taxes are likely to be payable, they will be charged and are the sole responsibility of the customer.
Some products are subject to specific shipping regulations and cannot be delivered to certain countries. It is up to the customer to ensure the regulations applicable in his country.

Upon receipt of the products, the customer can confirm on the delivery note that the products have been delivered in good condition. If this is not the case, the customer must refuse the delivery.

Any apparent anomaly concerning an order (number of units, damaged package, etc.) must be indicated precisely (detailed description of the anomaly) by the customer on the carrier’s delivery note, in the presence of the latter. The customer must immediately provide the French Center of design with any useful evidence (in particular photographs) and formulate in writing by registered letter with request for acknowledgment of receipt all reservations or complaints for non-compliance or apparent defect within three days excluding public holidays. After this period and failing to comply with these formalities, the products will be deemed to conform and free from any apparent defect and no complaint can be validly accepted.

PERSONAL DATA AND CONFIDENTIALITY

The customer’s personal data will be used to accompany him during his visit to the website in compliance with the regulations in force. The information left by the customer on the site www.frenchcenterofdesign.com is intended to process his request or order.

By leaving their data on the website, the customer consents to their use in compliance with the regulations in force. The information collected is intended exclusively for theFrench Center of design . They can be sent to partners involved in order processing, those in charge of managing payments in particular.

In accordance with the Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978, the customer has the right to access, rectify, and oppose his personal data by writing to the French Center of design.
