SUMMARY:MODERNIST ARCHITECTURE
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a one-day excursion outside of Paris\, dedicated to exploring the modernist architectural heritage. \nFirst\, we will visit the Maison Louis Carré\, a residential building in the south-west of Paris\, designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto for art collectors. This remarkable structure showcases Aalto’s distinctive style and approach. We will have the opportunity to explore its unique features and appreciate its architectural significance during a private guided tour in english exclusively for our group. \nNext on our itinerary is the Villa Savoye in Poissy – a modernist manifesto by Le Corbusier. This iconic building is the last in Le Corbusier’s white villa cycle and perfectly encapsulates the Modernist architectural vocabulary. Abandoned\, it was restored by the French state from 1963 to 1997. It was listed as a historic monument in 1964 when Le Corbusier was still alive\, an extraordinarily rare occurrence. \nBetween the 2 visits\, we will take the time for a gastronomic break and have lunch in the former hunting lodge of Louis XIV in the heart of a 4-hectare wooded park. \nPlease note that transportation will be provided in a van departing from Paris\, and lunch is included. \nLimited number of places. Comparing his interiors with movies\, where different spaces give rise to different emotions\, he reveals to us the secrets of his inspiration and the significance of exclusive objects for him. The talk ends by an international networking party. The event tooks place in the Secret Living Room of the legendary Les Bains Paris hotel\, renovated in 2015 according to Tristan’s project so he can directly comment on his interior.
